Welcome to the 14U Teams

At DMV Dream Softball, our 14U program is an important part of the Advanced Training Phase of our player development pathway. At this level, athletes build on their foundational skills while developing the consistency, game awareness, confidence, and competitive mindset needed to prepare for high school softball and beyond.

Our 14U team will compete on a 14B schedule, providing athletes with a challenging competitive environment while continuing to prioritize individual development and team growth.

Meet Our 14U Coaches

Coach Patrick Hoppe – Head Coach, 14U-B Team

The DMV Dream 14U team is led by Coach Patrick Hoppe.

Coach Hoppe's focus is on developing well-rounded athletes through strong fundamentals, competitive preparation, accountability, and teamwork. Players are challenged to improve their individual skills while learning how to compete together and contribute to the success of the team.

The goal at 14U is not simply to win games, but to prepare athletes to successfully transition into high school softball and the next stage of the DMV Dream development pathway.

Our Approach

The DMV Dream 14U program competes at the 14B level, with an emphasis on:

• Advanced fundamental and position-specific skill development

• Increased game awareness and softball IQ

• Strength, speed, and athletic development

• Competing against quality regional competition

• Building confidence in pressure situations

• Accountability, teamwork, and leadership

• Preparing athletes for high school softball

• Introducing athletes to the expectations of higher-level competitive softball

Players will compete in a tournament schedule designed to challenge them throughout the season while providing opportunities to apply what they learn in practice.

Our goal is to provide athletes with a clear path for continued development.

12U – Foundation Phase
Athletes establish strong fundamentals, learn the game, and begin developing the habits necessary for competitive softball.

14U – Advanced Training Phase
Athletes compete at the B level while developing the physical skills, softball IQ, confidence, and consistency needed for high school competition.

16U–18U – College Readiness Phase
Athletes transition into increasingly competitive environments with greater emphasis on high school performance, advanced skill development, recruiting preparation, showcases, and college exposure when appropriate.

Our philosophy is simple: development comes first, and the level of competition should increase as the athlete develops.
