DMV Dream 16U Showcase Tomlin is part of our College Readiness Phase, designed for athletes who are ready to compete at a high level while actively preparing for college softball opportunities.

As one of DMV Dream's 16U Showcase teams, 16U Showcase Tomlin competes on a high-level showcase and tournament schedule that challenges athletes against strong competition while providing meaningful opportunities for college exposure.

The program combines advanced player development, competitive softball, and structured recruiting services to help athletes prepare for both the high school and collegiate levels.

Meet Our Coach

Coach Phillip Tomlin – Head Coach, 16U Showcase Tomlin

Coach Phillip Tomlin serves as Head Coach of 16U Showcase Tomlin and President of DMV Dream Athletics.

Coach Tomlin also serves as the Head Varsity Softball Coach at St. Vincent Pallotti High School and was named the 2025 IAAM Coach of the Year.

His coaching philosophy centers on development, preparation, accountability, softball IQ, and competing with purpose. Athletes are expected to understand that success at the showcase level requires more than physical talent—it requires discipline, consistency, communication, preparation, and the ability to perform when opportunities arise.

Coach Tomlin's goal is to develop complete student-athletes who are prepared to succeed in high school, compete at the showcase level, and pursue college opportunities that fit their academic and athletic goals.

 

High-Level Showcase Competition

16U Showcase Tomlin competes on a high-level showcase schedule designed to provide athletes with strong competition and meaningful exposure opportunities.

The schedule includes:

• High-level regional and travel competition

• College showcase tournaments and exposure events

• Opportunities to compete in front of college coaches

• Events selected strategically for competition and recruiting value

• Competition designed to prepare athletes for the demands of collegiate softball

 

Our philosophy is that exposure must be earned through preparation. Simply attending a showcase is not enough. Athletes must develop the skills, confidence, softball IQ, and competitive mindset necessary to perform when college coaches are watching.

Recruiting Services

DMV Dream provides structured recruiting services for our showcase athletes and their families.

The recruiting process can be overwhelming, so our goal is to provide athletes with an individualized strategy and the resources necessary to take ownership of their recruiting journey.

Our recruiting services include:

• Player Evaluation & Identification – Evaluating where an athlete currently stands and identifying appropriate levels and opportunities.

• College Fit & School Identification – Helping athletes identify schools based on academics, athletics, location, campus preferences, career interests, and overall fit.

• Recruiting Profiles – Helping athletes develop and maintain the information college coaches need to evaluate them.

• Highlight & Skills Videos – Guidance on developing effective recruiting video content.

• College Coach Outreach – Helping athletes communicate professionally and consistently with college programs.

• Showcase & Camp Strategy – Identifying showcases, prospect camps, clinics, and other events that align with an athlete's recruiting goals.

• Recruiting Education – Helping athletes and families understand recruiting timelines, communication, evaluations, and expectations.

• Ongoing Recruiting Guidance – Supporting athletes as their recruiting interests and opportunities evolve.

Our objective isn't simply to help an athlete get recruited. It is to help each athlete identify and pursue a college opportunity where she can be successful academically, athletically, and personally.
