DMV Dream 16U Johnson Showcase is part of our College Readiness Phase, designed for athletes who are ready to compete at a high level while actively preparing for college softball opportunities.

The team competes on a high-level showcase and tournament schedule, providing athletes with opportunities to challenge themselves against strong competition, attend exposure events, and play in front of college coaches.

At this stage, our focus extends beyond player development. We combine competitive softball with structured recruiting services to help athletes and families navigate the college recruiting process.

Meet Our Coaches

Coach Wesley Johnson – Head Coach, 16U Johnson Showcase

 

The 16U Johnson team is led by Coach Wesley Johnson, a longtime member of the DMV Dream coaching and leadership staff.

Coach Johnson emphasizes advanced player development, accountability, softball IQ, competitive preparation, and leadership. His goal is to prepare athletes for the expectations of high-level high school, showcase, and collegiate softball.

Players are challenged to become complete athletes who understand how to prepare, compete, communicate, lead, and perform in high-pressure environments.

High-Level Showcase Competition

16U Showcase Johnson competes on a high-level showcase schedule designed to challenge our athletes and create meaningful opportunities for college exposure.

The schedule includes:

• High-level regional and travel competition

• College showcase tournaments and exposure events

• Opportunities to compete in front of college coaches

• Events selected with both competition and recruiting opportunities in mind

• A schedule designed to prepare athletes for the demands of collegiate softball

Our goal is not simply to attend showcases. We want our athletes prepared to perform when the opportunity for exposure comes.

Recruiting Services

College recruiting can be difficult for athletes and families to navigate. DMV Dream provides recruiting support and services to help our showcase athletes develop an individualized recruiting strategy.

Our recruiting services include:

• Player Evaluation & Identification – Helping athletes understand their current level and identify realistic college opportunities.

• College Fit & School Identification – Identifying schools that align with the athlete's academic goals, athletic ability, desired level of competition, and overall college preferences.

• Recruiting Profiles – Helping athletes develop and maintain the information college coaches need to evaluate them.

• Highlight & Skills Videos – Guidance on creating and maintaining effective recruiting video content.

• College Coach Outreach – Helping athletes develop appropriate communication strategies and connect with college programs.

• Showcase & Camp Strategy – Identifying camps, clinics, showcases, and events that make sense for each athlete's recruiting goals.

• Recruiting Education – Helping athletes and families understand the recruiting timeline, communication expectations, and next steps throughout the process.

• Ongoing Recruiting Guidance – Supporting athletes as their interests, opportunities, and recruiting needs evolve.

We believe recruiting should be intentional and individualized. Every athlete's path is different, and our goal is to help players pursue schools where they can succeed academically, athletically, and personally.

At DMV Dream, exposure and development work together. Playing in front of college coaches matters, but athletes must first develop the skills, preparation, and confidence necessary to take advantage of those opportunities.

16U Showcase Johnson combines advanced development, high-level showcase competition, and structured recruiting services to help athletes prepare for the next stage of their softball careers.
